What do you do to create a community of writers already?
I collected all of my students written work from the beginning of the year to the end. The students then put their work in a binder and decorated it towards the end of the year. They were excited to witness how their writing changed.
I encourage each student to evaluate their work with me and other students.
Do you find giving the students the opportunity to decorate a folder or binder with their work in it at the end of the year, when it's full, makes them more invested in the process?
